NFL Thursday night action

The 49ers take on the short-handed Giants in the Bay Area. The 49ers are double digit underdogs on the road. I expect the 49ers to cruise in there home opener but that is why they play the game on the field.

Basketball heating up in March!!

As we get ready for March madness and bracket challenges, the story out of BYU is that Brandon Davies was suspended for having pre-marital sex violating the school honor code. Big blow for the team and they lost by 20 points in their first match-up after losing the stand-out Sophomore post player.

Lebron and the Heat will be all over our TV sets facing the Magic, Spurs, and Bulls on National TV in the next 4 days. Hopefully Lebron will not continue to dazzle us with spectacular play until the clutch moments where he has struggled against tougher opponents.

Duke at North Carolina will likely provide the usual gut-wrenching excitement that always comes from Tobacco Road!

Enjoy basketball while the NFL figures out how to divide the estimated $9.5 Billion dollars that they will make if there is a 2011 season!

This Week in Wrestling (T-W-I-W) Vol.2

WWE continues to gain momentum heading towards Wrestlemania, and TNA drops the ball again!

WWE is using past stars- Triple H, The Rock, and the Undertaker to develop interest in the biggest pay-per-view of the year while TNA is pushing "retired superstars" into confusing storylines. Hogan and Flair would be great compliments in TNA, but they keep trying to push them as main-event worthy. It is not 1995 TNA!

The Rock had another electrifying promo on Raw yesterday, and I believe they are teasing for him to get involved in the Miz vs. John Cena main event at Wrestlemania. Shawn Micheals voiced his concern over Triple H ending the Undertaker Wrestlemaina streak, which could lead to Shawn interferring in that match.

This just in from the lame and boring department: Sting is coming back to TNA with a trench coat, face paint, and a baseball bat! Wow, we've never seen that before.

Until Next time...

Sunday in Sports

Kobe and the Lakers are doing their sleep walk through the regular season thing in Oklahoma City this afternoon. The Lakers will be just fine when June comes around. The big match-up is this evening when the Knicks take their talents to South Beach. I would love to see a 77-75 match-up with Patrick Ewing hitting a fade-away over Alonzo Mourning in the final seconds, but I will settle for a close game.

Here stands the #10 pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, and the savior of my beloved Washington Redskins. Cam is going to bring my team back and make us relevant again. The Cowboys at pick #9 better not...

Until next time...

Down goes Duke! Down goes Duke!

#1 Duke loses in Blacksburg, Va to Va Tech. Doesn't help the Terps, but I'm happy when the evil empire loses! Go Terps!

This Week in Wrestling (T-W-I-W)

Last night on WWE Raw Triple H and the Undertaker made returns to continue the upward swing of the WWE! They will likely wrestle as Triple H attempts to end the Undertaker's winning streak at Wrestlemania. With the Rock involved Wrestlemania may be an interesting watch this year for the first time in a while. It also seems like Jerry "The King" Lawler will "fight" Michael Cole in the bathroom break match. Wrestlemania will be on April 3rd in Atlanta. TNA is still boring! I will provide a TNA update whenever they provide something interesting to report...Good luck with that!

Until next time...

MVP

Look for Lebron to try to upstage Kobe on his home floor tonight and go for a triple double! Blake will show flashes of brillance for the home crowd, but he probably won't get much playing time. Paul Pierce is a sleeper MVP as he may try to fight through the booing crowd and put up numbers in his home state of California. First team to 150 wins, NBA action is fantastic!
